Is Powerboss a type of speed controller?
No. The Powerboss control system is designed to run the motor at a constant speed while optimising its performance. In simple terms speed controllers are much more expensive than Powerboss and make energy savings by slowing the motor down. Powerboss does not affect motor speed during optimizing. Unlike speed controllers Powerboss is able to save energy intelligently without adversely effecting motor speed. Powerboss controls motor torque not speed.
